Nano flame-retardant PP special material technology passed the identification

Recently, the nano-flame retardant polypropylene (PP) special material technology jointly developed by China Tianhua Wuhan Petrochemical Plant and Huazhong University of Science and Technology passed the technical appraisal organized by Hubei Province. Experts agreed that the technology is advanced and reasonable, original, and the integration of flame-retardant functions with reinforcement and toughness has been achieved. It has reached the international advanced level and has broad market application prospects.
This technology uses in-situ copolymerization method to cover the surface of nano-Sb2O3 polyacrylate polymer, and then compounded with PP to solve the problem of nano-particle agglomeration, which is conducive to the dispersion of Sb2O3 in the polymer matrix. The obtained nano-flame-retardant PP can be used as a PP-specific material, which can not only realize the engineering and high-performance of PP, but also realize the functionalization of PP.
