The well-known Barefeats website recently conducted speed and function tests on Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta, using two Mac computers: Mac Pro and dual G5.

CS3 = Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta (native Intel support-Universal Binary)
CS2 = Adobe Photoshop CS2 (non-UB)
The test results are as follows:
It can be seen from the test results:
1. Since Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta already supports Apple Intel series models, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta is much faster than Adobe Photoshop CS2. In the MP6 test, the speed was increased by 41%, and in the Retouch Artists test, the speed was increased by 70%.
2. Compared with G5, the speed of Mac Pro is even faster. In the MP6 test, the speed of Mac Pro is 86% higher than that of G5, and the clock speed of the two is only 20% different.
3. Using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta and Adobe Photoshop CS2 on G5, the performance has not improved much, about 2% to 5%. In some functions, it is even slower.
