In the process of design and production of steel drums, it is well known that sealing methods are important for determining the manufacturing process of steel drums and selecting the drum packaging structure. Recently, our factory carried out research on the packaging of open-drum steel drums and found that the quality of the packaging depends on the choice of sealing type and sealing tools.

According to the sealing type and the sealing requirements of the open steel drums in our factory, we have developed a clamp-type sealing tool for users of steel drums, which is used for the middle opening drum barrels produced by our factory. Cover the package. Practice has proved that the lid has good sealing effect on the apron and barrel top, reliable sealing, simple operation and convenient use, and is well received by users.

This jaw-type sealing tool enables the two clamping blocks on the same screw shaft to always hold the center clamped ring in the clamped condition. It cleverly uses a hollow sliding shaft above the screw shaft to limit the two symmetrical ring clamps. Under the condition of clamping force, it will not be tilted axially in order to ensure that clamping is always effective. The structure and working principle are shown in Figure 1. Mainly consists of left and right threaded left and right clamping blocks (5') and 5 and matching screw shaft 7 and shaft 11. The utility model has the advantages of simple manufacturing process, installation, debugging and use, and good sealing and sealing performance. There is promotion and application value, so the explanation is as follows:

1. Block processing

In jaw-type sealing tools, the key piece is a clamp block. It decides whether seals are reliable or not and decides the success or failure of seals. Others are general parts. When designing the clamping block, first press the size of the middle opening of the sealed steel drum, and the ring groove blank with the same size of the clamping part of the car into the sealing position. Then on the milling machine, it is evenly divided into four pieces, one for each piece. T24 x4 left and right trapezoidal threads were individually manufactured and one φ26H6 slide hole was machined on each piece. Finally, after heat treatment, the clamping site is made with sufficient hardness. It accounts for about a quarter of the entire ring blank. as shown in picture 2.

2. Clamp-type sealing tool assembly

First, the left and right clamps are respectively screwed on the corresponding threads of the screw, and the left and right clamps are axially symmetrical with respect to the screw. At the same time, the two clamps are placed on a plane according to the working position, and the screw is screwed to make the two clamps at a proper distance. 3. Sealing operation

The distance between the two clamps placed on the same plane shall be adjusted to the size of the open lid in the middle of the opening. Hold the shaft and the middle of the rod with the left hand and place it in the middle of the top of the bucket. Due to the weight of the jaw-type sealing tool, a certain pressure is applied to the lid, and then the handle is rotated counterclockwise to rotate the screw, so that the left and right clamps move along the center of the barrel respectively, and the clamping handle is directly clamped until the sealing requirements are met. Rotate the screw clockwise to reversely release the left and right clamps, and then rotate the two clamps in the top plane of the bucket so that it can be clamped in different clamping positions until it meets the packaging requirements. The drum can be packaged three times.

4. Clutch movement characteristics during sealing

In the sealing process, the normal condition is that when the handle is rotated, the two clamping blocks advance and retreat almost simultaneously. However, in special circumstances, because a certain clamp block is subject to greater resistance, and the other clamp force is not strong or unforced, when the screw is rotated, the force is not large or the clamp block is not doubled per rotation. The pitch is used to advance and retreat. However, when clamping, the two clamping blocks can always find the equilibrium position of the force to evenly seal the lid, and ensure that the two clamping blocks are always in the axial symmetrical position of the screw while the axial symmetrical position is on the left, The spring force of the right two springs is achieved. As long as the spring has a certain amount of spring force, the two clamp blocks must always be in a symmetrical position in the axial direction.

5. Improve sealing tools as required

According to different applications improve sealing tools. The connection type of the joystick and the screw is converted into various structural forms to obtain different operation effects. When necessary, it can also be converted into an electric clamp-type sealing tool, which will greatly improve the sealing effect and packaging efficiency.
