Brief Discussion on Two Spray Sealing and Filling Processes for Foreign Steel Drums

Beijing barrel factory Luo Huwen

Due to the nature of the items to be contained, some steel drums require absolute sealing at locations where leakage may occur. Among them, the upper and lower roll-sealed parts of the barrel are most prone to leakage, so some foreign steel drum manufacturers constantly researched and developed to seek the best production technology. The two-seam sealing joint filler technology is a new type of research. Process. This kind of technology only seeks to increase the insurance factor of the steel barrel's anti-leakage, but it increases the manufacturing cost of the steel barrel. Here's a description of this process.

Now intercept a 200-liter steel barrel at the end of the foreign countries, see its profile (see figure), this steel barrel uses six layers of circular curling, the bottom with a thick 1.3mm steel plate, barrel body and barrel top are thick 1.2 Mm steel plate production. This mainly takes into account that the drum bottom edge of the drum is susceptible to impact and bump during use, and at the same time, the corrosion resistance of the bottom of the drum is increased, and the service life is prolonged. The bottom curl of the barrel produced by this method has strong impact resistance. The two voids in the center of the crimp are filled with a white, elastic, hermetic filler. The packing is originally a whole, but in the process of completing the roll-sealing operation, the front end of the barrel flange is cut into two pieces. In the coil layer, the packing is subjected to a strong squeezing force, so its texture is hard . In the first bending position of the steel plate, a crescent-shaped gap can be seen, which is filled with another kind of red elastic sealing filler, and its texture is relatively soft. Due to the two different color fillers used in the crimping, it is not difficult to see that the spraying of these fillers is done twice at different times. White filler is sprayed on the bottom of the bucket. The red filler is injected at the bottom of the barrel on the sealer.

So why not use the same type of packing and use two different types of packing? This is because the void in the center of the layer is the key part. The liquid in the barrel does not seep through here, and the barrel will not leak. Therefore, the filler with good quality and high cost is used. Moreover, due to the actual operation, leakage or spray quantity or lack of application may sometimes occur, which affects the quality of the product. Therefore, it is necessary to perform a second coating in case of accident. At the same time, it also blocked the third gap in the volume. However, in actual production, problems such as missing spray occur rarely, so when the second pass is applied, there is no need to use high-price, high-quality fillers, as long as they can fill and fill in the coil. , And the price is relatively cheap on the line. The red filler in the figure belongs to this type. In the process of sealing the bottom of the barrel, due to saturation of the packing in the coil, a small amount of red filler overflows, which is a defect of this spraying method.

Using the above method to make steel drums, although the cost of each drum is slightly increased, the anti-crimper leakage effect is very good, and the user can use it with confidence. Factory products thus gain credibility, which in turn enhances the competitiveness of the market and receives a multiplier effect.
