Function and function introduction:

The open thin-wall bending beam experimental device is a special teaching experimental equipment specially developed by the Engineering Training Center of Dalian University of Technology for the "Experimental Mechanics" course "Bending Center for Thin-walled Beams and Internal Force Measurement". The experimental guidance book "Basic Mechanics Experiment" in the "Opening Thin-walled Beam Bending Center and Internal Force Component Measurement Experiment" part is an experimental instructional textbook specially prepared for the equipment. The device has been used for four years in the "opening thin-walled beam bending center and internal force component measurement experiment", with nearly 900 students per year (including 17 classes in the functional materials department, 10 classes in mechanics), and the actual use effect is good.

Students using the experimental device can first determine the position of the curved center of the open thin-walled beam by electrical measurement. Secondly, the position of the strain gauge can be designed independently, so that the bending normal stress and the shear stress of the midpoint of the upper and lower surfaces of the flange of the groove of the test piece and the bending shear stress of the midpoint of the outer side of the web are respectively measured when the load line passes through the bending center. It is also possible to determine the torsional shear stress at the midpoint of the upper and lower outer surfaces of the flange and the torsional shear stress at the midpoint of the outer side of the web when the line of action is passed through the section. The measurement results are displayed by smart meters, and can also be transmitted to the computer to complete related data collection and processing.

The teaching device is designed directly according to scientific principles, and has the characteristics of simple structure, novel design, convenient operation and accurate measurement. The experimental device can not only measure the bending center, but also can accurately measure the magnitude and distribution of the bending normal stress, the shear stress and the torsional stress by using different bridge modes as long as the resistance strain gauge is properly attached. The device uses high-precision instruments to display the measurement results in real time, and the measurement data can be transmitted to the computer through the interface, which facilitates the timely and accurate processing of the experimental data. The device integrates advanced technologies such as mechanics, mechanical structure, sensor technology and signal processing technology, and combines advanced technology with traditional experimental principles to create ideas for integration of information technology and traditional experiments. There are no reports of similar experimental devices in China, which have further promotion significance.
