The food technology center of GueCph University in Ontario, Canada successfully developed a new type of PEN-resistant polyethylene naphthalene phenolic resin for high heat-resistant food packaging materials.
This new package has the advantages of high heat resistance, resistance to embrittlement, moisture resistance, oxidation resistance and UV radiation resistance. If this PEN polyethylene naphthol resin material is mixed with the traditional food packaging material PET polyethylene terephthalate, a new type of PEN/PET material will be formed. Due to the high heat resistance of the new food packaging material, it can be processed at high temperature. For example, jam can be hot-packed at 94 degrees Celsius to make the food life longer.
