Sample - New Ventilation Type Aging Test Chamber According to GBT3512-2001 Standard
1. The test preparation must follow the requirements outlined in GB/T 9865.1.
2. For hot air accelerated aging and heat resistance tests, samples should be conditioned according to GB/T 2941 before testing. It is important not to use the complete product or test piece for this process.
3. Once aged, the samples must not undergo any mechanical, chemical, or thermal treatment that could affect the results of the test.
4. Typically, five samples are used before and after aging, but a minimum of three samples is acceptable if necessary.
5. Only samples with identical size and specifications can be compared to ensure accurate and meaningful results.
The dimensions of the sample should be measured before heating. After aging, markings should be applied, but they must not appear on any critical surface of the sample. Additionally, the marking material should not be damaged or decomposed during the heating process.
To prevent the migration of sulfur, antioxidants, peroxides, or plasticizers, it is strongly recommended not to age different types of rubber samples together in the same ventilation type aging test chamber. It is advised to only combine the following types of materials:
a. Same type of polymer;
b. Vulcanized rubber containing the same type of accelerator or similar ratios of sulfur and accelerator;
c. Rubber with the same type of antioxidant;
d. Rubber with the same type and amount of plasticizer.
This careful selection of samples ensures that the test results remain reliable and consistent, meeting the standards set by GBT3512-2001. Proper handling and preparation of the samples are essential to achieving accurate outcomes in the aging test.
