Sample - New Ventilation Type Aging Test Chamber According to GBT3512-2001 Standard
1. The test preparation must follow the requirements outlined in GB/T 9865.1.
2. For hot air accelerated aging and heat resistance tests, samples should be conditioned according to GB/T 2941 before testing. It is important not to use the complete product or test piece for this purpose.
3. Once aged, the samples must not undergo any mechanical, chemical, or thermal treatment that could alter their properties.
4. Typically, five samples are tested before and after aging, although a minimum of three samples is acceptable if necessary.
5. Only samples with identical dimensions and specifications can be compared to ensure consistency in results.
The sample size should be measured before heating. After aging, it is recommended to mark the samples, but the markings must not be placed on any critical surface and must not be damaged or decomposed during the heating process.
To prevent the migration of sulfur, antioxidants, peroxides, or plasticizers, it is advisable not to age different types of rubber samples together in the same ventilation-type aging test chamber. It is recommended to only heat the following types of materials together:
a. Same type of polymer;
b. Vulcanized rubber containing the same type of accelerator or with a similar ratio of sulfur and accelerator;
c. Rubber containing the same type of antioxidant;
d. Rubber containing the same amount of the same type of plasticizer.
This practice ensures accurate and reliable test results while maintaining the integrity of each sample. Proper handling and selection of test samples are essential for compliance with the GBT3512-2001 standard. Always refer to the latest guidelines and ensure all procedures are followed carefully to achieve consistent and meaningful outcomes.
