Third, in the use of binding materials for hardcover books, we believe that there are currently two issues that seriously affect the tightness of hardcover:

First, the hard cover of paper uses coated paper instead of plastic, which directly affects the firmness of the book case. Coated paper itself is very poor in fiber and flex resistance. The degree of firmness of hardcover books is determined by the firmness of the connection between the book case and the book block. Book shell fabrics have poor flexural properties and are easily broken. Book shells and book blocks are easily separated and directly affect product quality.

In the past, some hardcover books were printed on waisted paper, and some books or books were also used in this way. The purpose was to enhance the fastness of the case. We feel that this is much better than a simple paper book shell and is of better quality. If paperback must be used, the paperback waist will be better.

Second, the use of non-woven fabrics on the back of the hardcover book has a certain effect on the firmness of the hardcover. Non-woven fabrics are made of cellulose material glued with adhesive, and its flexibility is far inferior to gauze.

The degree of firmness of hardcover books, as previously stated, is determined by the degree of adhesive bonding between the bookcase and the bookblock. The type of binding material used on the back of the book has a direct effect on the degree of firmness. For many years of production practice, we know that some may consider costs or benefits. Therefore, the consideration of framing materials is sometimes rather unsatisfactory. For example, there are hardcover books of world literary classics, the cover design is very delicate, and the quality of printing is very exquisite. It is very collectible, but from the point of view of the binding materials it uses, the cover art paper is not plasticized, and the ring lining is a coated paper. The back of the book is a non-woven fabric. These three types of frame materials are lack of flexibility, no toughness, and easy to break. The hardcover books made with this binding material are certainly very rugged. They cannot afford to be read. The length of the book case will be broken after a short time. The ring will be broken and the back of the book will be broken.
