3NOVATICA was established in early 2014 and is recognized as Poland's first low-cost 3D printer manufacturer, originally known as U-Design. The company later rebranded itself and created MojRepRap, the largest online community for 3D printing enthusiasts in Poland. Interestingly, one of the new shareholders of 3NOVATICA is Infineon, a leading Chinese electronics manufacturer based in Hangzhou.
The company initially offered only one product: GATE, a RepRap-style 3D printer that gained popularity among Polish 3D printing hobbyists. However, this fall, 3NOVATICA launched two new models that differ significantly from the original GATE. These new printers are more compact, stylish, and affordable. The FLEXA is a consumer-oriented model, while the PROFABB is designed for professional use.
FLEXA is a sleek 3D printer with several unique features. It has a print area of 19 x 19 x 23 cm and can be equipped with one or two extruders. A print sensor is included, and the LED lighting changes color depending on the temperature—red for overheating and blue for safe operation. A webcam and an external heated wire feeder are also integrated. The heated bed supports various materials like ABS, PLA, Laywood, and Laybrick. The printer uses Repetier Host, an open-source software tailored for 3NOVATICA devices.
The basic FLEXA (single extruder) is priced at 6763.77 PLN (~12,500 RMB), while the FLEXA BOX with a heated wire feeder costs 8237.77 PLN (~15,300 RMB). The FLEXA DUO, featuring dual extruders and a heated wire feeder, is available for 9223.77 PLN (~17,100 RMB). During pre-sale, the FLEXA DUO can be ordered for 1600 Euros.
Key specifications include FDM technology, a maximum print size of 19x19x23 cm, layer resolutions of 62.5, 125, and 250 microns, 1.75 mm filament diameter, 0.5 mm nozzle size, and support for multiple materials such as ABS, PLA, Laywood, and Laybrick. The printer also includes a print sensor, LCD panel, and a webcam.
Additional features include the DIG system (in-rail drive), which enhances safety and reduces noise. The XY drive system uses a 12 mm precision rail, and the printer provides space for motor components. The wire feeders are externally mounted and maintain a constant temperature of 50°C. Users can choose custom colors for their prints.
PROFABB is a completely different model, developed over a year and first showcased at the 3D Printing Day in Kielce, Poland, in March 2014. Now it’s the final version. It comes with two extruders, a camera, turbo cooling, and an emergency stop button. Like FLEXA, it has a print sensor with color-changing LEDs and a 12 mm precision rail. Its maximum print size is 20 x 20 x 23 cm, and the heated bed works with a wide range of materials, including nylon, rubber, Laywood, and Laybrick. The print area is fully enclosed, making it ideal for professional environments.
PROFABB is built to last, offering continuous operation and reliability for heavy use. While the exact price is not yet announced, it’s expected to be around 2,500 Euros. Both FLEXA and PROFABB are set to ship in late October or early November.
