Development of Carbon Dioxide Polyurethane Foam Technology

The new carbon dioxide-prepared polyurethane foam technology has recently passed the appraisal organized by the State Environmental Protection Administration. This product can be used as a buffer packaging material and completely biodegraded after disposal.

This technology uses carbon dioxide gas as the main raw material and adjusts and copolymerizes with epoxide to obtain aliphatic polycarbonate polyol and polyurethane foam. The prepared polyurethane foam can be completely biodegradable without leaving harmful substances. Tested by the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, it is degraded 33% a month, superior to all synthetic polymer materials and blends with starch, with high strength, high modulus and so on.
